Paul Trayner has extensive experience in human resources, employee-labour management relations in the petroleum, utility, communications; chemical and technical service industries in Canada and the United States.

His thirty years of comprehensive human resource management and labor-relations background includes working in companies such as Northern Telecom (Nortel), Shell, Philips Petroleum (Pacific 66), NOVA Corporation, Occidental Petroleum, Alberta Power Limited and ATCO Frontec (ATCO Group of Companies). Paul has worked with such unions as the UAW, Teamsters, IBEW, Machinists & Aerospace Workers, Operating Engineers, Canadian Energy Workers (CEWA), Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), Communication, Energy and Paper Workers (CEP) and others.

A brief, recent client list includes ATCO Frontec, Agrium, ENMAX, Canadian Energy Workers, The Boeing Company, McCoy Brothers, ATCO Power, and ARCTEC Services Corporation-Alaska/Colorado.

Paul brings to his practice a broad working knowledge and experience in human resources management and organization effectiveness. His career developed through assignments in each facet and function within human resources management typically in corporations undergoing substantial organizational change. Paul's strategic approach to improving employee and labour management relationships is grounded in his practical experiences as a union member early in his career. After leaving school Paul worked as a laborer in union shops and was active as a shop steward, negotiator and organizer.

Over the past 18 years, he has developed effective strategies to enhance the labour/management relationship for the long term. Paul has been able to assist organizations (labour and management) to move from concept through implementation with some notable successes in Canada and the United States.

Paul's formal education includes a Communications Technology Certificate, a Certificate in Social Services (counseling and community organization) and a Master of Arts Degree in Applied Behavior Science (Leading and Consulting).

Paul established the CONSENSUS MANAGEMENT GROUP, CMG, IN 1995 to provide consultation, planning, training and facilitation to organizations undertaking significant systemic organizational change, through designing and implementation of durable human solutions, leadership coaching/development, organizational development interventions and building strategic alliances between labour and management.
