Values and Philosophy

My goal as a therapist is to help you rediscover a deeper sense of self-compassion, and build upon strengths to overcome life's obstacles. I am always impressed by how much growth can be found by helping to set a strong foundation that promotes a positive self-concept, as many therapeutic goals are more readily obtained once this has been found. I also emphasize understanding the elements that may have caused weaknesses in our self-images. Once understood, the client can feel more confident and empowered in addressing them in daily life. In addition, I provide a wide variety of therapeutic strategies and techniques to utilize between sessions.

On a more personal note, I work hard to instill a sense of approval and validation in our sessions.  I also believe in providing an open atmosphere so you'll know what I'm thinking and why.  My education and experience has provided me with the opportunity to work with amazing people through amazing journeys.  I am honored by the trust and courage shown by each client, and reciprocate with a deep sense of appreciation and compassion.

Therapeutic Technique and Methodology

Often, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Family Systems principles, and psychoeduction are found to be particularly helpful, but others often apply depending on the task at-hand. For a description of these therapeutic styles, please visit www.SeattleCounselingTherapy.com.
